30 MayQR Code: New Age Technology

Almost everyone aged seven and up have their own smartphones for different purposes. Some use it as an entertainment media while others use it as their main communication device. New innovations have allowed smartphones to do more than just make call and send SMS messages and now, the introduction of QR codes have introduced a newer way to use smartphones.

Have you ever imagined using your smartphone as a way to access websites, travel maps, coupons and buy certain products and services? It’s almost like using your smartphone like a credit card but with more benefits. This new technology is made possible with the introduction of QR codes which is already being used to different parts of the world. Denso-Wave is a company in Japan who first used QR codes to keep track of their inventory. Basically, a Quick Response (QR) code is a new two-dimensional matrix
barcode that holds more information than its standard counterpart. The best thing about QR codes is that it can be easily read by smart phones or any other mobile devices that are equipped with cameras or QR-based scanners. Information stored on QR codes can be either through text or URL and it stores virtually any type of information. Typically, a QR code is a square pattern with a white background using a black modules arranged specifically.

If you are an online marketer, you can make use of QR codes to take your online advertising effort a step further. You have to remember that local businesses attract more than 80% of customers within a radius of 10-12 miles and local searches are significantly increasing at an exponential rate of 50% a year. This means that more and more people are looking for local businesses for their needs.

•Using QR codes, you can include your contact information and other details like any other business cards. You can even include it on your website or have it printed on your business card.

•If you have international customers ordering for you, you can use QR codes as your packaging label instead of the usual barcodes on CDs and DVDs. Parking lots can be cleaner with QR code stickers on every car windshield.

•Stick your QR codes on an advertisement in a specific bus stop. From there, you can attract potential customers who are a bit bored while they wait for their bus to arrive. Once they see your advertisement and they got a little interested, all they have to do is scan their smartphone for the QR code and they will get either free coupons or your contact details.

30 MayWhy should you take a Sits Bath?

The purpose of taking a sits bath is to relieve pressure on your hydroids. Relaxing your anal sphincter muscle does this. The warm water draws blood to the anal area, which shrinks and relaxes those swollen veins that are often painful to touch. By shrinking these external hydroids the pressure lessens on them, which in turn eases the throbbing that is the cause of so much pain.

You should sit in at least 6 inches of warm water for It is generally recommended that you take a sitz bath about three times a day when flare ups occur.

Why Should you take a Sits Bath?

Sitz Baths will not cure your hermits but it is important to take them for various reasons.

•    They shrink your swollen tissues and they relieve pain quickly and effectively.

•    You can take them in the privacy of your own home.

•    They’re hygienic and are important for keeping this often painful area clean.

•    They are perfectly safe as they do not require any salts to be effective.

•    It is not necessary to buy any specialized equipment to take them.

•    You can use a use a bathtub, or if you can’t, you can buy a sitz basin to place over your toilet seat. These are fairly cheap to buy. You do not need to go to the doctors and get a prescription.

•    They’re easy to use, just sit in warm water for 15-25 minutes and relax.

Should I add anything to the water?

That’s up to you but it is not necessary. Just use clean water. You can add Epsom salt, baking soda, or essential oils such as lavender or juniper. This is entirely up to you. The clean water sitz bath is just as effective.

You should not add soap, vinegar, bath salts or even bubble bath to your sitz bath water as they can be very irritating to your hemroids.

Above all relax when taking your sitz bath. I usually read a book.

Applying Ointments.

Once you have finished relaxing in your sitz bath. Use some ointment to further sooth the area. Apply petroleum jelly, zinc oxide cream, or an over-the-counter hemroid cream.

30 MayHow to Improve Your Bathroom for Less

The bathroom is among the prime areas that serve the most intimate and personal functions.  This makes it an ideal space to spruce up as any change would surely be noticeable and frequently enjoyed.  One of the things that stop most homeowners from taking pleasure in that slice of luxury that a bathroom remodeling has to offer is the cost.  But this should not stop you as improvements can be achieved for less.  So whether you are in Manhattan, Long Island, Queens, Staten Island or Brooklyn; a budget bathroom remodeling project would surely afford you the relaxation and utter comfort you need from the hectic everyday New York living.

When thinking of improving the bathroom for less, carefully plan which ones you can afford.  Create a list of which changes are really needed, and enlist items according to personal priorities.  For the biggest bang for every buck, choose a remodeling project that creates the most impact for less.  Here are several ideas to consider:

Replace Light Fixtures

Lighting is essential especially in areas where important tasks are undertaken.  Replacing lighting fixtures not only increases productivity and efficiency in your bathroom, it also helps open up space and contribute to the ambiance.  For a better groomed and more confident you, position lights around mirrors and avoid creating unflattering shadows.  Energy efficient lighting fixtures could add to your savings in the long run as well.

Dress Up the Walls

The walls are among the elements in the bathroom that greatly affects its overall look and feel.  Depending on your taste, you can either opt to have the walls painted, wallpapered or do a combination of both.  But whichever way you choose to cover up and beautify the walls, consider materials that are highly resistant to moisture to enjoy the results for a long, long time.

Replace Accessories

While the walls are being painted or wallpapered, these essentials would be uninstalled.  While at this, you might as well shop for new toilet tissue dispenser, towel bars, and other miscellaneous accessories that complement the new color of the walls well.  Adding in mirrors would also make the area more appealing and seem more spacious.

De-clutter

Organization is the key to make the bathroom less crowded and fully functional.  But among the common issues faced by New York homeowners is space, so you would have to be careful when shopping for cabinets and shelves or designing them if you decide to have them custom-made.  Opt for space-efficient models that also offer creative management of storage to be able to keep more things, without using up and cutting back much of the bathroom’s overall area.  You can also look into multi-functionality like having vanities instead of just plain cabinets.

Bathroom Cabinet Reface

One of the most noticeable features in the bathroom is its cabinetry.  Refacing the cabinets can give it a whole new look while costing just a fraction of totally replacing them.  To complete sprucing the look of the cabinetry, you can also install new hardware to match.

30 MayInsanity – Who Is Shaun T?

A new workout has hit the Beachbody shelves that was developed by fitness guru Shaun T called Insanity. Now, this name may scare you off at first, but it was developed to push you further than any other workout program out there, which is why the intense name of the workout. Insanity is not for your average person that does not have the dedication to working out and changing their body.

You may have heard the name Shaun T before as he has developed other popular workout programs such as Hip Hob Abs and Rockin Body, but what makes Shaun T so special and capable of producing these types of workout programs?

Shaun T always had a love for dance. He first started making that love of dance into his career when he attended Rowan University were he majored in sports science and also minored in dance/theater. The thing about Shaun T is that he actually used his love of dance to personally lose 50 pounds, which later helped him design his popular workout program Hip Hop Abs. After graduating from college, Shaun T decided to make his way from New Jersey out to Los Angeles.

Shaun T found success out in Los Angeles doing what he loved:dance. He choreographed and danced for singers such as Mariah Carey and Nick Carter and also starred in musicals such as Pippin and The Ten Commandments. He also worked with companies like Nike, Marc Jacobs and the Los Angeles Lakers.

He has choreographed quite a few events in his life, even though he is still young. He has choreographed the NCAA final 2 halftime show, Aaron and Nick Carter’s music tour, the movie Bring it On: All or Nothing, and also was involved with collaborating with Kathy Smith on her fitness program Project You Type Two.

Having a background in both sports science and dance he decided to put the two things together to develop a workout program that would help people lose weight while having fun dancing. In 2007, he developed Hip Hop Abs, which was his own development and techniques of working your abs without having to get on the floor. He incorporated his dance choreography into a simple and easy to learn workout program. He went even further with his love of dance and a year later developed Rockin Body, which utilizes the latest dance moves to shed any unwanted pounds and tone your body quickly.

Shaun T decided to take a little different approach with his latest Insanity workout. He decided to focus on his sports science background to come up with a high-intensity workout that would push anybody to their limits to reshape their body. He used a principle he calls MAX interval training, which goes beyond the normal interval training. Insanity is something that most people have never experienced with a workout program.

Shaun T currently travels around the United States to different fitness conventions and can be found teaching his Hip Hop Abs and Insanity workouts  at different fitness centers. He also still has his love of dance and likes to teach at dance studios as well.

30 MayLawn Cloth

Characteristics

Lawn is a lightweight, sheer cloth, crisper than voile but not as crisp as organdy. Lawn is known for its semi-transparency, which can range from gauzy or sheer to an almost opaque effect, known as lining or utility lawn. The finish used on lawn ranges from soft to semi-crisp to crisp, but the fabric is never completely stiff. Lawn can be white, or may be dyed or printed.

History

The term “lawn” derives from “Laon”, a city in France, which produced large quantities of linen lawn.

Uses

Lawn cloth commonly is used for dresses, blouses, nightwear, underwear, lingerie, curtains, collar cuffs, shirting, infant wear, and handkerchiefs.

It is also commonly used in liturgical vestments in the Anglican churches, such as the surplice and episcopal rochet:

“No it was not for love of lucre that he wished to be bishop of Barchester. …But he certainly did desire to play first fiddle; he did desire to sit in full lawn sleeves amongst the peers of the realm; and he did desire, if the truth must be out, to be called ‘My Lord’ by the reverend brethren.”
