The HTC S is the phone that is being launched by HTC in order to provide some more features into the already successful Desire. The plans to make the new phone seemed to have cropped up to the Taiwanese giant after the introduction of a number of new phones by other manufacturers in the same segment. The increased competition has meant that the original HTC will be no longer sufficient to take on the competition and there was the need for a new model. It will be the Desire S that will be replacing the HTC and it promises to be good in the same way as the predecessor was.
The Desire S will be using the features mostly from the HTC. It is currently only in the areas where the phone that an improvement that the HTC will be concentrating upon. The Desire S will be coming with a maximum resolution of 480 x 800 pixels within the touch screen display. The Super LCD capacitive touch screen display will mean that one will be able to get high levels of performance from the screen without sacrificing on the efficiency aspect of it. It is definitely superior to the AMOLED or the Super AMOLED in this regard. The HTC Desire S will be using the latest version of the HTC Sense user interface. The 3.0 version that it is using is expected to carry on a significant amount of changes from the previous versions, which will be only improving the usability of the phone.
The HTC Desire S will be coming with touch sensitive controls that also help in making the phone user friendly. The usage of a powerful 1 GHz processor might seem to be the right choice for the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It is welcoming to know that the HTC Desire S will be coming with this latest version of the operating system in the stock rather than it requiring update after buying. The HTC Desire S will be coming with a five megapixel unit that remains unchanged from the previous version. Even though this might not be the eight megapixel camera that many would have been hoping, it will be coming with plenty of options like LED flash, image stabilisation, touch focus, Geotagging and HD video recording. The HD video recording will be done at 30 frames per second, which is the ideal frame rate for any video.
The HTC Desire S will be coming with a secondary VGA camera for better video clarity during the video calling. The 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options are some of the various connectivity options that are present in the HTC Desire S. The 3G connectivity option present in the HTC Desire S is one of the fastest connectivity options in any mobile phone and it will be able to support up to 14 Mb per second when it comes to download speed.
